المدعي العام للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية يرى بأم العين الفظائع التي ارتكبت بليبيا ويؤكد أن تحقيق العدالة “ليس بالمهمة المستحيلة”
شدد المدعي العام للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية، كريم خان، على أن العدالة لا يمكن أن تكون مجرد قيمة أو فكرة، بل “يجب أن يشعر بها الشعب الليبي”. جاء ذلك في إحاطته لمجلس الأمن عبر الفيديو من العاصمة الليبية طرابلس، وهي الأولى لأي مدع عام للمحكمة من الأراضي الليبية.

أخبر السيد خان المجلس عن زيارته لموقع في ترهونة حيث رأى “مشهداً بائساً” لصناديق معدنية أُجبر الناس على دخولها والعيش في “حالة مروعة للغاية”، بما يرقى إلى “اللاإنسانية المحسوبة”. كما ذكر زيارته لمزارع تحولت إلى مقابر جماعية ومواقع لطمر النفايات “حيث ألقيت الجثث دون مراسم (الدفن).” وأشاد بعمل خبراء الطب الشرعي الليبيين الذين أزالوا أكوام القمامة بما في ذلك “الكلاب والماعز النافقة” للعثور على الجثث، التي وصل عددها الآن إلى 250 جثة، لم يتم التعرف على الكثير منها.

The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court sees first-hand the atrocities committed in Libya and affirms that achieving justice is “not an impossible task”
The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, stressed that justice cannot be just a value or an idea, but rather “must be felt by the Libyan people.” This came in his briefing to the Security Council via video link from the Libyan capital, Tripoli, which is the first for any prosecutor of the court from Libyan territory.
Mr. Khan told the council about his visit to a site in Tarhuna where he saw a “miserable sight” of metal boxes where people were forced into and live in an “absolutely appalling condition”, amounting to “calculated inhumanity”. He also mentioned his visit to farms that have turned into mass graves and landfill sites, “where the bodies were dumped without a (burial) ceremony.” He praised the work of Libyan forensic experts who removed piles of rubbish including “dead dogs and goats” to find the bodies, which now number 250, many of which have yet to be identified.
