أعمال إنتقامية وترهيب بسبب تعاونهم مع الأمم المتحدة في مجال حقوق الإنسان

كشف تقرير جديد النقاب عن تعرّض أشخاص ومجموعات في 42 دولة حول العالم لأعمال انتقامية وترهيب بسبب تعاونهم مع الأمم المتحدة في مجال حقوق الإنسان؛ شمل ذلك احتجاز الأشخاص واستهدافهم بالقوانين التقييدية والمراقبة عبر الإنترنت وخارجه.
جميع الحالات التي تم إبرازها في التقرير المعنون “التعاون مع الأمم المتحدة وممثليها وآلياتها في مجال حقوق الإنسان” تعلقت بأفراد ومجموعات تعاونوا مع آليات حقوق الإنسان التابعة للأمم المتحدة، أو استخدموا إجراءات الأمم المتحدة لتبادل المعلومات والشهادات، وطلب التعويض عن انتهاكات وتجاوزات حقوق الإنسان.
ويوضح التقرير السنوي للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة بالتفصيل كيف تعرّض الأشخاص – وخاصة ضحايا انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان، والمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان والصحفيين – لأعمال انتقامية وترهيب من قبل الدول والجهات الفاعلة من غير الدول.

A new report has revealed that people and groups in 42 countries around the world have been subjected to reprisals and intimidation for their cooperation with the United Nations in the field of human rights; This has included detaining people, targeting them with restrictive laws, and monitoring both online and offline.
All of the cases highlighted in the report “Cooperation with the United Nations, its Representatives and Mechanisms in the Field of Human Rights” concerned individuals and groups who cooperated with United Nations human rights mechanisms, or used UN procedures to exchange information and testimonies, and to seek redress for human rights violations and abuses.
The annual report of the UN Secretary-General details how people – particularly victims of human rights violations, human rights defenders and journalists – have been subjected to reprisals and intimidation by state and non-state actors.
