لقوات الإسرائيلية كانت وراء إطلاق النار المميت على مراسلة قناة الجزيرة الفلسطينية الأمريكية، الصحفية شيرين أبو عاقلة في الضفة الغربية المحتلة، ولم يكن مصدرها إطلاق نار عشوائي من قبل مسلحين فلسطينيين. هذا ما ذكرته اليوم الجمعة المتحدثة باسم المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان.
وكانت السيدة شيرين أبو عاقلة، وهي صحفية تلفزيونية متمرسة، قد قتلت في 11 أيار/ مايو الماضي، أثناء محاولتها القيام بعملها الصحفي وتغطية سير عملية اعتقال قامت بها قوات الأمن الإسرائيلية واشتباكات في مخيم جنين للاجئين في شمال الضفة الغربية المحتلة.

السلطات الإسرائيلية لم تجر تحقيقات حتى الآن
وقالت المتحدثة باسم المفوضية رافينا شامداساني في مؤتمر صحفي بجنيف إنه “بعد أكثر من ستة أسابيع على مقتل الصحفية شيرين أبو عاقلة وإصابة زميلها علي سمودي في جنين في 11 مايو / أيار 2022، من المقلق للغاية أن السلطات الإسرائيلية لم تجر تحقيقا جنائيا”.
وفي أعقاب التحقيق الذي أجرته المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان في الحادث، أضافت السيدة شمداساني أن “هذا الرصد من مكتبنا يتسق مع العديد من النتائج التي تشير إلى أن الطلقات التي قتلتها جاءت من قوات الأمن الإسرائيلية”.
ورفض بيان أصدرته البعثة الإسرائيلية في جنيف هذا الاستنتاج، وأصر على أنه لم يتسن حتى الآن تحديد هوية المسؤول، في ظل “رفض السلطة الفلسطينية إجراء تحقيق مشترك وتسليم الرصاصة”.

لحظات شيرين أبو عاقلة الأخيرة
في حديثها إلى الصحفيين في جنيف، وصفت السيدة شمداساني اللحظات الأخيرة للسيدة أبو عاقلة مع زميلها علي سمودي.
وقالت إنه “في حوالي الساعة السادسة والنصف صباحا، عندما انعطف أربعة من الصحفيين إلى الشارع المؤدي إلى المخيم، مرتدين خوذات وسترات واقية من الرصاص مكتوب عليها شارة الصحافة (PRESS)، أطلقت باتجاههم عدة رصاصات فردية تبدو جيدة التصويب، من اتجاه قوات الأمن الإسرائيلية. أصابت رصاصة واحدة علي سمودي في كتفه، وأصابت رصاصة واحدة أبو عاقلة في رأسها وقتلت على الفور

The Israeli forces were behind the fatal shooting of the Palestinian-American Al-Jazeera correspondent, the journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, in the occupied West Bank, and it was not from indiscriminate shooting by Palestinian gunmen. This is what was stated today, Friday, a spokeswoman for the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Ms. Shireen Abu Aqleh, an experienced television journalist, was killed on 11 May, while trying to carry out her journalistic work and covering an arrest operation by Israeli security forces and clashes in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Israeli authorities have not yet conducted any investigations
“More than six weeks after the killing of journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh and the injury of her colleague Ali Smoudi in Jenin on 11 May 2022, it is deeply worrying that the Israeli authorities have not conducted a criminal investigation,” UNHCR spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said at a press conference in Geneva.
Following the investigation by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights into the incident, Ms. Shamdasani added that “this monitoring from our office is consistent with several findings indicating that the shots that killed her came from the Israeli security forces.”
A statement issued by the Israeli mission in Geneva rejected this conclusion, and insisted that it had not yet been possible to identify the official, in light of the “Palestinian Authority’s refusal to conduct a joint investigation and hand over the bullet.”
Sherine Abu Akleh’s last moments
Speaking to reporters in Geneva, Ms. Shamdasani described the last moments of Ms. Abu Akleh with her colleague Ali Smoudi.
She said that, “At approximately half past six in the morning, when four journalists turned into the street leading to the camp, wearing helmets and bullet-proof vests bearing the PRESS insignia, several single bullets were fired at them, apparently well aimed, from the direction of the Israeli security forces. One bullet hit Ali Smoudi in the shoulder, one bullet hit Abu Aqila in the head and she was killed instantly.
