اعتمدت الجمعية العامة الخميس بتوافق الآراء قرارا بعنوان “استراتيجية الأمم المتحدة العالمية لمكافحة الإرهاب: الاستعراض الثامن”.
وقد أدان القرار بأشد العبارات الإرهاب بجميع أشكاله ومظاهره، وجميع الأعمال الإرهابية، بما في ذلك تلك القائمة على أساس كره الأجانب والعنصرية وأشكال التعصب الأخرى، أو باسم الدين أو المعتقد، مع الاعتراف بالتزام جميع الأديان بالسلام.
كما أكد القرار العزم على إدانة التطرف العنيف الذي يفضي إلى الإرهاب والتحريض على ارتكاب أعمال إرهابية تنشر الكراهية وتهدد الأرواح.
ودعا القرار الدول الأعضاء إلى الامتناع عن حرمان الأشخاص الذين يزعم ارتكابهم أعمالا إرهابية من جنسيتهم بما يتنافى مع الحق في الجنسية على النحو المنصوص عليه في المادة 15 من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان.
واستنكر القرار بشدة المعاناة التي يسببها الإرهاب بجميع أشكاله ومظاهره لضحايا الإرهاب وأسرهم، معربا عن خالص التضامن معهم، وحث الدول الأعضاء على تزويدهم بالدعم والمساعدة المناسبين.
UN Resolution: The General Assembly stresses the importance of political will in combating terrorism

On Thursday, the General Assembly adopted by consensus a resolution entitled “The United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy: Eighth Review.”
The resolution condemned in the strongest terms terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and all terrorist acts, including those based on xenophobia, racism and other forms of intolerance, or in the name of religion or belief, recognizing the commitment of all religions to peace.
The resolution also affirmed the determination to condemn violent extremism that leads to terrorism and incitement to commit terrorist acts that spread hatred and threaten lives.
The resolution called on member states to refrain from depriving people of their alleged terrorist acts of their nationality in contravention of the right to a nationality as enshrined in Article 15 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The resolution strongly deplored the suffering caused by terrorism in all its forms and manifestations to the victims and their families, expressing sincere solidarity with them, and urging Member States to provide them with appropriate support and assistance.
