سيترأس هذا الحدث رفيع المستوى رئيس اللجنة، السفير شيخ نيانغ، كما و سيتضمن كلمة يلقيها رئيس دولة فلسطين محمود عباس، بالإضافة إلى تصريحات من قبل روزماري ديكارلو وكيلة الأمين العام للشؤون السياسية وبناء السلام، المفوض العام للأونروا، وممثلي المجموعات الإقليمية والمجتمع المدني.
تسلط هذه الذكرى الضوء على أطول أزمة متفاقمة للاجئين في العالم، وتعد تذكرة على أن أكثر من 5,9 مليون لاجئ من فلسطين مسجلين لدى الأونروا لا يزالون يعيشون وسط نزاع وعنف واحتلال، ويتطلعون إلى حل عادل ودائم لمحنتهم.

Live from United Nations Headquarters in New York: The United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People Commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the Nakba
The high-level event will be chaired by the Chair of the Committee, Ambassador Sheikh Niang, and will include a speech by the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, as well as statements by Rosemary DiCarlo, Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, and representatives of regional groups and civil society.
This anniversary highlights the world’s longest growing refugee crisis, and serves as a reminder that the more than 5.9 million Palestine refugees registered with UNRWA continue to live amidst conflict, violence and occupation, and aspire to a just and lasting solution to their plight.
