ياسمين شريف: نحن في سباق لضمان التعليم لجميع الأطفال وما من خيار سوى الفوز

ناشدت ياسمين شريف المديرة التنفيذية لصندوق التعليم لاينتظر وهو صندوق الأمم المتحدة العالمي المعني بالتعليم في حالات الطوارئ والأزمات الممتدة.’ أولياء الأمور دعم حق أبنائهم وبناتهم في التعليم، وتذكير الأطفال بأن هويتهم وإمكانياتهم تكمن في قدرتهم على التعلم والنمو.

واكدت ياسمين ان الحروب والنزاعات وحالات الطوارئ الأخرى تسببت في حرمان ملايين من الأطفال من التعليم. الأمم المتحدة تؤمن بأن تعليم الأطفال لا يمكن أن يؤجل إلى أن تُحل الصراعات، لذا خرجت إلى النور مؤسسة تركز جهودها على ضمان تقديم التعليم في الطوارئ والأزمات طويلة الأمد.

واوضحت ياسمين شريف بأن 222 مليون طفل يفتقرون إلى التعليم الجيد بينهم 72 مليونا خارج أسوار المدارس، فقالت: إنه لأمر محزن ومأساوي للغاية أن نرى هذه الأرقام المهولة. عندما تأسس صندوق “التعليم لا ينتظر” (عام 2016) كان عدد الأطفال المحرومين من التعليم الجيد يقدر بنحو 75 مليونا.

ثم ارتفع هذا العدد إلى 222 مليون طفل بسبب النزوح والاضطرابات الناجمة عن جائحة كــوفيد-19 وتصاعد الحروب والصراعات.

Yasmine Sherif, Executive Director of the Education Can’t Wait Fund, appealed to the United Nations Global Fund for Education in Emergencies and Protracted Crises.’ Parents support the right of their sons and daughters to education, and remind children that their identity and potential lie in their ability to learn and grow.

Yasmine stressed that wars, conflicts and other emergencies have deprived millions of children of education. The United Nations believes that children’s education cannot be postponed until conflicts are resolved, so an organization was born that focuses its efforts on ensuring the provision of education in emergencies and protracted crises.

Yasmine Sharif explained that 222 million children lack quality education, including 72 million outside the walls of schools, and she said: It is very sad and tragic to see these huge numbers. When the Education Cannot Wait Fund was established (2016), the number of children deprived of quality education was estimated at 75 million.

Then this number rose to 222 million children due to displacement and unrest resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the escalation of wars and conflicts.
